Cute Judy Garland in her first movie, Pigskin Parade (1936)
This month we are not crafting any ruby slippers to focus on other tasks that will change the way our ruby slippers will look. We will announce these changes soon. It feels a bit like calm before the storm because we've got some beautiful shoes to sequin in the second half of the year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to let everyone know that we plan to bring one pair of ruby slippers down to Champassak in southern Laos towards the end of the year 2016 for the locals and particularly children to see and hold.
We believe in the magic of our creations and this will be the first time in Lao history that a pair of hand-sewn ruby slippers will be in Champassak where Lao Kings once ruled. We like to spread the word about Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz in other parts of Laos.
Early in the year, we held a
Buddhist ceremony in Champassak for Judy Garland and our long-departed loved ones but we couldn't bring any ruby slippers with us because they were all sold out, this time we will reserve at least one pair for the journey.
