We held a Buddhist ceremony for Judy Garland down in Champassak, southern Laos in February and some of the funds from the sale of the limited edition ruby slippers went towards that. The contributions by the buyer of that pair will bring them good luck and success.

The ceremony wasn't for only Judy Garland, but also for our departed family members and those who have played a significant part of our lives. Buddhist monks and about 100 people enjoyed the occasion with plenty of food and drinks. You should visit Champassak if you get the chance to experience the true Lao way of life. The Wat Phu Festival is also held during this time of the year.

Anyway back to what this forum thread is about. We will be working on another beautiful pair of ruby slippers in March, 2016 after our break, and they will involve red metallic sequins that will be hand-sewn with a straight needle onto the shoes. It's a long and difficult process because you have to handle over 4,600 sequins. The ruby slippers will be crafted to look like new with a custom-made shoes by one of the top replica ruby slipper makers in the world.

This is the ruby slippers that we see Judy Garland as Dorothy wear for the first time in The Wizard of Oz after Glinda zaps them on her feet.

MGM Studios wanted to give this pair of ruby slippers a bit of sexiness by making them more slim and pointy on the toes, and they had longer heels than other pairs she wore in the movie. Judy Garland didn't wear these for very long because the studio only required her to wear them for filming in closeup shots, then she would take them off to keep them in pristine condition.

Other known pairs of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland had shorter heels and fatter toes for breathing room so that she would feel more comfortable for walking, running and jumping during long periods of filming. They didn't just make one pair of ruby slippers for the movie because that's how Hollywood works.

We will be crafting this pair of ruby slippers using a custom-made shoes with the exact shape and size of the closeup pair. Nobody has these shoes.

The massive task of sewing thousands of sequins has began on Judy Garland's ruby slippers, starting with the right shoe. The sequins are sewn by hand and it's looking very beautiful so far.

We always make sure the sequins are stitched tightly on each row in an organised, overlapped manner with no gaps. When examined up close, the sequining looks very neat and quite impressive.

Reserve the ruby slippers early if you can, this pair is highly recommended.

Sequining on the right shoe of Judy Garland's ruby slippers is finished and the bow is attached to the shoe. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the stitching. The sequins looks very neat and firm on the shoe.

It's hard work and very tiring to get this far but we've still got the left shoe to do.

The ruby slippers is living up to our expectations, they are looking stunning as always. Thousands of sequins is sewn onto the shoes with a straight needle and strong red thread by hand to form the sparkling ruby slippers. 

You can imagine how slow and painstaking the task really is. This is a genuine handmade product that requires meditation and listening to some Tina Arena, yep Tina Arena.

love her music, she started singing at a very young age just like Judy Garland.

After many weeks of sewing nearly 5,000 sequins onto a size 5B shoes, we have finally finished Judy Garland's ruby slippers.

This is hot, just a very hot pair of ruby slippers created exactly like the closeup pair of ruby slippers that Judy Garland as Dorothy wore in Munchkinland. Once again, the exquisite sequining is the stand out and the perfectly shaped bows are not too big and not too small.
