Should I travel through Lao or Vietnam en route to China.

I'll be flying into Phnom Penh soon and I have the choice of either traveling through Vietnam or Laos. Vietnam has a railway system which makes land travel simple. Frankly, the land transportation system of Lao is underdeveloped. Problem is I like Lao more than Vietnam and would prefer to slowly make my way up north. Are there interesting villages I can visit in southern Laos? Thanks.

Reply #4 - 7^th Aug, 2013 at 10:01am Pictures of geologic outcrops, mountains, streams, gulleys, ravines, endangered animal species and biomasses, birds, bees and all flowers from trees would be highly interesting to see.
