In 1939, Judy Garland opened a flower shop called "Judy Garland Flowers Inc." at 5421 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Few people knew this, but this was around the time she was filming "The Wizard of Oz", as if she wasn't busy enough already with her acting commitments.
After her super-busy schedule at MGM studios, business woman Judy Garland would spend a couple of hours each evening at her flower shop arranging flowers and filling orders, where she and her mother ran the business.
Her mother thought it would be a good idea to invest her money in something outside of showbiz. Profits, if any, from the business venture went into a special trust fund for Judy Garland that she cannot touch until she reached the age of 18.
