The Wizard of Oz sweetheart, Judy Garland was a gifted performer and entertainer who spent almost her entire life on the public stage in one way or another, whether she was on stage, film, TV or radio. She was dubbed the reigning "Queen of the Musicals" for a reason.

She was a unique singer-actress with enormous talent because she could sing, dance and act in her movies. There are not many people who have this ability, and yet it's shocking to think that many lessor actors and actresses have won Oscars and Judy Garland hasn't received one, except a miniature Oscar.

Judy Garland needed to maintain her skills at the highest level because she needed to make one film after another within a short period of time and short rest periods. Just thinking about it makes you tired, but she was a professional who lived during an era in Hollywood where hard work and perfection was the norm.

After her career in the movies were over, Judy Garland's live performances on stage always attracted large crowds wherever she went. She can also add her accomplishments in TV, radio and touring US army camps in her resume.

It remains to be seen whether there will be another entertainer like Judy Garland in the future. Never in our opinion, but there will always be different talents that blend in with the new trend and styles in our changing society. Judy Garland was unique and original and she was a top notch singer-actress when classic movies was in its infancy stages.
