Does anyone know some cool/funny Lao proverbs? I've found some on the internet, but they're mostly in English with no actual Lao translation.

The funniest one I saw was something like:

To judge an elephant look at it's tail, and to judge a girl look at her mother.

I thought it was funny comparing a girl's mother to the ass end of an elephant.

The one I just liked was:

Happiness flees those who seek it.

Seems to be pretty accurate.

So, does anyone know what the proverbs actually are in Lao? Or are they just made up? I distrust random proverbs from the internets that are only in English.
