What/how did 'Trance' evolved from? Used to be popular ~10 years ago but not as popular in Europe.
Remember Robert miles from '96? His track "children" or others like it. The style he used was called dream dance/trance in the early and late 90s. Now it's all commercial, synth roll and base only (yuck). With music software available these days, everyone's an artists it seems.
The only time you'll hear more of these music is when you go clubbing. Notice the dance rhythm and base today is changing as well, it's reverting back to 70s discoish style. Britney Spears "Hold it against me" has some Eurodance feel, so, my guess is it's still popular but not as much as it used to.
Hardcore Rock (garage bands), Aternative, R&B, and Rap is still dominant.
