Speaking of Lao being sponsored and moving to America, it all depends what their agendas are.  They come here to work and find opportunity and a new life, the government here has no issue with that.  If you come here from Laos and start political problems or do anything illegal towards the government or harm their citizens, I can assure you this person will get deported back to Laos along with his/her family that brought him here.  In the past, it has happened in some cases.

I'm pretty sure the admin means well and plan on coming here with good intentions.  You are being prejudice and discriminative now.  So, you are saying your family are all Communist as well right? I am referring to your family currently living in Laos.  To me,  the real Communist are the government/political figures, those are the ones you need to rage your anger towards not the people.  In the forum, she can't even voice her opinion in regards to politics, she has to use caution.  If our government for example, took all our freedom away, you and I would be doing exactly the same thing...does that make us bad?

I think something happened in  the past to you or your family member, and you are still not over it.  I can understand that, however, we need to move on and try to do what is right to help fix the problem so it doesn't happen again.

What is this freedom you speak of?? The freedom to get molested by highschool failures before boarding a plane? The freedom to have the shit beaten out of you by police? The freedom to be shot during no knock drug raids? The freedom to have dumbass republican citizens voting for handing more and more personal rights over to corporate entities?

A lot of the posts on here really reek of second generation Lao immigrants who are pissed off at the communist government only because that's what they were told by their parents when they were growing up.

The Vietnam war was a complete waste of human life, and ultimately didn't change anything. You think democracy would really make the lives of rural Lao farmers any better? If that's the case why aren't Thai Issaan people better off? Thailand has "democracy"...but it hasn't helped the poor in the provinces any. Democracy, communism, whatever, any type of government isn't an automatic magical solution to a country's problems. Ultimately you have to change the hearts and souls of all the people in a nation, or even the world to make any difference...and good luck with that.

At least in Laos/Thailand I don't have to be a gay republican senator in order to be able to afford bribing the man.
