The Ruby Slippers take Dorothy and Toto back to the sepia-coloured, real world of her Kansas farm house and she wakes up in her own bed with Auntie Em holding a compress to her forehead, and Auntie Em and Uncle Henry fussing over her.

Professor Marvel, an itinerant magician, and the farm hands Hunk, Hickory, and Zeke stop by to see how she's doing. She raises indulgent laughter when she tells them about Oz, but she's so happy to be home she doesn't mind that they don't believe her.

"Oh, but anyway, Toto, we're home. Home! And this is my room, and you're all here. And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home!"
