(KPL) The government has granted a 50-year land concession to the CAMCE Investment ( Laos) to develop 50 villas for accommodating the delegates of the 9th Asia-Europe Meeting in 2012.
CAMCE Investment (Lao) Company Limited, a joint venture between Lao and Chinese companies, will invest
US$ 180 million
in building the villas on 25 ha of land on the southern area of Don Chan Island along the Mekong riverbank.
This development project will include medical service, entertainment places, sporting venues, business centre, international school, business suites and restaurants.
Signatories to the land concession agreement were Director of the Vientiane Planning and Investment Service, Mr Visay Chavanhna, and Chairman of the CAMCE Investment (Lao) Company Limited Ms. Luo Yan.
The company will do its utmost to accomplish developing the villas before the organizing of the ASEM, which will be hosted by the Lao government, said Mrs. Yan. Witnessing the signing ceremony were Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, and Chinese Ambassador to Laos, Mrs Bu Jiangua and relevant officials of both sides.
