Very convincing that it will happen.  We do not really manufacture/produce anything anymore to export to other countries.  The US is only making movies and music and other than that, nothing Cry.

If anything happen it's our own fault. The $15 trillion national debt will mess us up. War in Iraq and Afghanistan which cost taxpayer about $5 billion a month doesn't help. Expert say China will overtake U.S economies in 2016. Another reason China is rising because many Western nation invested there. Either way in 21 st century you can't really competed with 1.3 billion Chinese.

Big copration are sending jobs oversea for cheaper labor. Then import those goods to sell in the U.S. That mean more profits for the company, and avoid business taxes.

Yep. 'Greed' is the perfect word. 'Everything happens for a reason'.That's my favourite quote.

I remember when the Soviet Union collapsed, there were so many people here in the USA that were so happy.

Our excuse for a big military was over, but the government found so many more (or invented some); my point is we never cut back on our enormous defense budget.

Another thing, after the "Energy Crisis of the 70's, we did little to find alternate fuels, or develop more sources of resources. Look at Brazil, they hardly import any fossil fuels. Why America didn't follow suit is anyone's guess.

Interestingly enough, the US Government is already ready for this collapse. If they are ready, then there is (my opinion) a good chance that they anticipate that it will indeed happen.

Here's a couple of links...

If America follow Brazil that mean million and million of people, gas station, oil company will lose their jobs and make less profits. Its bad for business. They has electric car in the 80's, but they didn't allow it into production.

"Greed", but big business, corporation is the one who created jobs and opportunity. There's pro and con. Question is how do you balance the influences? Working class and super rich.

If technology becomes "outdated" because of new technological advances then it makes sense that those jobs would end and new occupations would arise.

History is full of examples, and I am sure that many of us can name quite a few off the top of our heads, so I won't go into that here.

If petroleum workers (broadest sense of the term) lost their jobs, then I am sure, because of new technology, many would find new jobs because of the new advancements in alternate energy technology.

Agreed. When there's a will, there's a way. Layoff worker can go back to school and updates their skilled. Japan is a good example most of their worker are highly skilled, company used technology, robots. For unskilled work they send them oversea.

I am pro corporation.  Whoever came up with the idea, started a company and then create thousands of jobs people then this person(s) should be rewarded nicely for creating those jobs.

I'm in a middle I'm for working class, union and pro-business, big corporation. Government need to cut business taxes from the current 35% and do whatever to help company stay in America and stay in business. If not because of big corporation we wouldn't have a jobs. At the same time people need to make a living wages to feed their family. Government also has to regulated and monitor these business, lobbyist. There are fraud, and corruption too.

That's why there's so many jobs and opportunity in America because everywhere you look and turn there is a company, business, corporation, and these business need worker.

If you guys want proof that America is falling apart, keep an eye on the currency.  I remembered 1 euro=$.91.  Now, it dropped to an all time low of $.68 to 1 euro.  It'll keep dropping.  If you see what's going on in the middle east, that's exactly what will happen in the US eventually.  You also may have notice companies are in demand for gold, asking YOU to sell.  There are so many things going on right now it's hard to imagine of the possibilities.  Once the dollar becomes non-existent, here's my prediction.  Society will cease to function, there will be chaos in the country, Marshall law, and the possibility of WW3 happening is pretty high.

I too have been watching the dollar deflate. When my wife came over here in 2005, One dollar could be exchanged for 12,000 kip. Now it is only a little over 8000. Don't invest in Euros. Buy gold, silver, or put your money in foreign banks in marks, franks or yen. Best of luck to everyone.
