It was on the news while back. They say just Vientiane is short on water supply.

WE should be the supplier/distributor Wink!  All we need is very open land outside of Vientiane, level the land surface with sand, build an air conditioned center for the workers for breaktimes and lunch times, grow the grass, bring in sod cutting machines, cut the sods (18 inch x 12 inch), load the sods to trucks and distribute them to a plant/flower selling centers throughout Vientiane and other citiies (or can go directly to any house).

Grass should be a major part of the development of Vientiane and Laos in general because grass beautifies the ground, helps retain moisture in the ground and control man-made and wind erosions on the surface significantly and should drastically reduce sands or mud flowing to the streets of  Vientaine.

As a tourist to Vientiane would you prefer to see greener land/pasture throughout Vientaine (or sandy/muddy ground conditions on roadways and walkways)? Should reduce air pollution in city as well, caused by blowing dust.

Good stuff. I think this grass will work  because Laos and Texas has similar weather. Just need to find distributor in Laos. Springer system also help.

What type of grass is growing around the school?  I would assume that those kids prefer to play on softer grassy surface - earsier on their feet and body.

There is a grass called 'St. Augustine' that thrives very well in hot humid conditions like in Texas during the summer and I think this grass can thrive as well in Laos.  St. Augustine grows quick and horizontally on sandy surfaces, so they spread like wildfire once it starts.  Water once a week and they are fine.  Pretty much all of outdoor soccer/football fields in the Houston, Texas area grow this grass because they are tough to wear down when stepping on it. St. Augustine is very good in stabilizing surface sand and soil in place from man-made and/or wind erosion.

Good idea MrLao4ever. Supply and demand. We need to know everything about it, we need business plan. Then take a baby step. There are many idea, some work and some don't. Best thing is to visit Laos and see it the first hand.
