I have never been involved in any Hmong/Lao family nonprofit organization.  But I have been involved with donations to charities that helps our country (Laos).

For me personally, I have been donating to this charity www.chiki.ca I don't know if you have heard of it.  Sylvia has been involved in many projects in helping our children in Laos.  I'm very proud of her.

There's Hmong-Lao family in St. Paul, but I never used it. What do they do?

i think both lao and hmong work for hmonglaofamily, if not most of them speak laostian. i think back in the early 90s many lao and hmong around saint paul/mpls went their for help. today a lot people still go for services like job placement, youth intervention, family issues etc. however i notice that many lao population move out saint paul towards farmington near buddah temples. anyway hmonglaofamilyorg is an old organisation. many of the staff speak at least 4 languages, thai, lao, hmong, english.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to send can goods but you can contact her to find out.  They usually only accept money transactions and directly purchase items there in Laos.  It's probably cheaper that way.

in job placment i mean that they help you find a job. i been in one on univesity and they have computers and the staff to help with your resume. they also make calls and give you a hook up and direct to the right places to find a job. basically their job is to find you a job.
