If you're their neighbour then they don't expect anything from you. They'll invite you to come over for some food and drinks.

Friends usually give gifts, or help out financially with the party such as give some money for a box of beer, or buy a cake. Male friends sometimes share the money for a bottle of whiskey and give that as a gift, but they all drink it together at the party anyway.

Females like to receive those stuffed animals as a gift, so they can cuddle up with at night.

I know how to post photos in a forum, and I've followed the correct procedure. I've posted lots of photos in other Lao Pride threads, too. Like this photo of our wedding in Vientiane.

Not any more.

I designed, built and operated the place for four years and sold it about a year ago to a British investor.

I still go there on weekends to give free English classes to local village children. Our house and farm is just along the river from the resort.

Kop jai der for teaching English to the local kids. The resort looks very serene and peaceful to go to. I will be there when I go back to Laos sometime next year. Is it a hotel or bed and breakfast? What river is the resort next to? I can use the map. How's your rock garden going?

It's an ecolodge.

It costs from $8 to $38 a night to stay there. They have a floating restaurant, so you can have all meals there. It's on the Nam Ngum river.

Rock garden is coming along - just waiting for grass to grow in the gaps between the rocks.

Traditional Lao sauna is coming along, too.

The resort has a boat for hire 12 people (they often take food and drink with them) and kayaks and tubing, too.

This is my son, Michael, in the kayak.

And some foreign guests kayaking off the floating restaurant and tubing downriver towards the resort.
