(KPL) Lao government expects to create jobs for 276,828 people by 2015 to promote employment and develop labour skills in the country. This was a statement of Head of Exterior Relations and Cooperation Service, Mr. Chomyaeng Phengthongsavat, at a recent meeting held in Vientiane, to discuss a draft plan on cooperation between Lao Government and International Labour Organisation.
He continued that to ensure the achievement we have to focus on three important priorities of promotion of employment and labour skills development, labourers� right and management of labour market.
The promotion of employment and labour skill development are a key to alleviate poverty in rural areas by giving job opportunity, he added.
The government will also construct 12 employment services for serving people and three labour service centres in three parts in the country. Mr. Chomyeng further stated that the mechanism of migrant labour will also be improved to prevent labour oppression.
Meanwhile, the Lao government will test Lao labourers especially 10,000 workers to be certificated.
So far, there were 44,000 Lao workers have been developed their skills from the labour development centre.
