The biggest city in Laos doesn't even have a million people, so there can't be that many people involved.

They won't shoot and kill every protester, but they will kill a handful of them. Once this happens, the rest will retreat in fear of death. So don't underestimate the capabilities of the Lao Government. It doesn't matter if people are having a peaceful protest, they will be dealt with severely.

There's no such thing as crimes against humanity in Laos. Remember, it's not long ago that Lao people fought against each other in the civil war.

I think former PM Bousone quite because of politics. He is a new generation of Lao leader and pro-China. Why the old Lao leader are pro Vietnam. Under former PM Bousone Laos economies grow 7.5%. The problem many foreign company bring their own worker intead of hiring Lao worker. Hopefully new PM Thangsing can do something about that and require foreign company to hire at least 40% of Lao worker.

Pro China or Pro Vietnam PM doesn't matter. Who ever can create more jobs for Lao citizens, and keep developing the country win my votes. I hope pro Vietnam PM Thongsing will do a good jobs too. But don't forget Laos under Vietnam for the past 35 year is still one of the poorest, and least developing nation in Asia.

BorLeumBanGerd, I can speak about the Lao Government in general, but I avoid accusing them.

Notice that this thread is about the former and new PM, and I haven't mentioned anything negative about either of them.

New generation or old generation, it doesn't matter, you still don't want to step over the line about certain issues.

That's what living in Laos does to you, it keeps you looking like a deaf and dumb neanderthal. Actually, I shouldn't insult these ancient carnivores, even they have more freedom than us.

I wonder if you'll have a same thinking LP Admins. Let say you has an opportunity to live, study and work in a country like Australia, Japan, Singapore, UK for about 5 year. And have a good paying jobs that pay $50,000 a year. Then you decide to move back to Laos after 5 or 10 year. Will you have different thinking and opinion then now?

Earning $50,000 a year might make you think like a Capitalist, how to invest and make more. With $50k a year you might have some left over to invest in Laos. Work hard, save up lot of money, vacation in Laos, later move back and retire there. In my opinion.
