Visited twice..but to go back and live there permanently, probably No.  Grew up in the US and became too accustom to life here.

Same as me. I left Laos when I was 12 yrs old. Now Im 32. I would like to retire in Laos, but go back and fore between U.S. Still has relative in Laos and US. Want to retire at 50-55 yrs. In the US you have to work until you're 67 yrs old before you can retire to get full benefits. If Social Security and medicare don't go broke by then.

I hope Lao government has dual citizenship policy. US and Laos citizens so it will be easier to go back and fore.

it could be because the elders didnt grow up here. they dont have a bond with people who have established themselves here. their bond is with the old land. people they can relate. people smoking opium as they please lol.

USA Joe, I heard that opium is the reason why the old US military had a strong bond with the Hmongs.

Perhaps there's no dogs for them to eat in the jungle, so they need to resort to eating bears, lizards and monkeys, then smoke a few puffs of opium together as an alternative for dessert.

But some civilized people in the US started to eat insect, and bug too. Just like people in Asia.

last i check, majority of civilized people dont keep insects nor bears, lizards and monkeys as pet. and then, eat their pet. or steal their neighbors to eat.

USA Joe. According to UN, bug and insect has nutrition. Maybe all civilized people should start eating them. It's probably better for you then hamburger and French fries.

USA Joe if the west are so civilized. Why does 50% of the marriage in the US end up in divorce? Don't people have any moral or only care about money.
