Bananas grow in abundance in Laos.

Laos have among the cheapest bananas in the world, a bunch of manzano bananas usually cost 5,000 kips (US 58 cents) and may be as low as 3,000 kips (US 35 cents).

Pankeo,Yes same place, the area to go into the Kuadin market.

I noticed the little boy picking his nose. Also the bananas in the basket appear black. It's not rotten yet, this is perfectly normal to eat but the price will be cheaper than a yellow coloured banana.

Nothing tops Asian fruits and vegetables because it's all organic. Here in the states fruits and vegetables tend to get larger every year. In Laos we see 5-10 pumpkins, in the US we see world records 500-1400 pound pumpkins, talk about unnatural growth. LOL

Look at that second photo:

Why are there so many Lao flags cantilevered out of windows, or are hanging from a stick imbeded into the wall of their houses?

Is this government policy (propaganda)? Or are Lao people just proud and want to display their pride?

I hardly ever saw the Lao banner being flown in the rural Villages of Vientiane; in the city, Lao flags are EVERYWHERE.

They fly Lao flags out in the countryside as well.

Many people put out flags for the National Day celebrations in Laos by their own choice. They decided to keep it there.

Yeah.........but only sparsely are they on display.

I'm Lao, ethnically.

Flying the Lao flag on residential properties is a little overboard. They are usually reserved for businesses. The second photo that you are referring to, are all businesses with flags.
