I'm not sure around $35,000-$100,000 or more. If you are sub contractors or had your own business you can make more.

Any idea how much qualified builders in the US earn?

Are they building a castle?  Looks like it's steel framed structure which is much better than wood.  The workers looked like Viet?  Man, I am becoming a Judy Garland fan now.

Steel frames are more durable and cheaper than the conventional timber homes. Smiley

Admin added more pics of Judy for example in this topic.  I freaked out a couple of times when I accidentally clicked on 'Judy Garland Board' instead of 'General Lao Board' Cheesy.

Builders in Texas use wood as well for building homes because wood is cheaper.  My next house will be steel-framed structure.  I will make the house fireproof and termite proof but not sure about lightning though Cheesy.

Residential properties are erected with steel frames as well!

Houses with steel frames are just as 'lightning proof' as timber homes.

Why not?

Another advantage of steel frames are that they don't bend!

Not sure. I think because steel frame cost more and time consuming to install. Average house in the U.S take 3 month or less to build. Time is money here. To build a nice average house with 3 room, 2 bath, 3 car garage. The material cost about $90,000 and Labors is about $120,000. After the house is finish they'll sell it for around $250,000. My quick estimation, but you know right now US housing market is at the bottom and not good.

What I've heard that it costs more to use steel than wood in Texas for example because not many are not ready yet to use steel.

From 'homework' to get knowledge and knowledge is power.

I mainly do subsurface earth 'modellng' (80% of the my time at work) - sorry for not clarifying Grin.   However I have done some body parts modeling in the past Shocked.

Here is the woodframe 'skeleton' look like after the dust had settled.  Probably the same in Minnesota?
