We are back to working with ruby slippers after a month off to use our time with other orders including making shoes and wooden heels.

We will be using this exquisite pair of hand-sewn bows for our next pair of hand-sewn ruby slippers in March, 2018. This pair of wearable ruby slippers will be crafted in Judy Garland's size 5B.

We are the only professional shoemakers in the world who can make wearable hand-sewn ruby slippers using the same technique as the original ruby slippers made by MGM for Judy Garland as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

Another pair of hand-sewn ruby slippers in Australian size 8 will also commence this month for another fan so our work in March 2018 will be quite busy with ruby slippers, shoes and heels.

What is the width of the original shoes?

The best pair for Judy Garland as Dorothy was made in size 5B, "B" being the width.

They also made other widths for the original ruby slippers, but the B width on size 5 shoes is considered the best.

Our wearable shoes containing wooden heels that we crafted in Judy Garland's size 5B.

To make our ruby slippers look authentic and high quality exactly like the original ruby slippers, a golden embossed label is heat stamped on the right insole reading "Innes Shoe Co., Los Angeles, Pasadena, Hollywood."

"#7 Judy Garland" are marked inside both shoe, with #7 used as a reference by MGM Studios to select this pair of ruby slippers for Judy Garland as Dorothy to wear in Munchkinland.

On some of the original ruby slippers used in The Wizard of Oz, orange felt was added to the bottom to dull the sound they made against the Yellow Brick Road.

However, orange felt was not required for the #7 pair worn by Judy Garland as Dorothy in Munchkinland because the sound was muted as she skipped down the Yellow Brick Road in order for a recorded singing of "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" and "You're off to see the Wizard" by the Munchkins to be played, which MGM Studios altered to give the recording a "chipmunk" effect.

The shoes and bows are done, so we're all set to begin sequining this beautiful pair of shoes and it's going to be a very time-consuming task.

There's still a lot of sewing to do on the right shoe even though it looks close to finish. This pair of ruby slippers is on track to be really exquisite as you can see with the right shoe so far.

We are kinda behind with our work with some orders, and through mutual agreement with our customer the size 8 pair of ruby slippers will be crafted when the time suits us both.

The hard work is still continuing with the right shoe and we couldn't be more pleased with the sequining so far, perfection is an understatement.

We are now sequining the left shoe.

This pair of hand-sewn ruby slippers looks incredibly beautiful just like the young 16-year-old girl from Minnesota who wore a near identical pair in The Wizard Oz.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Your pair is up next. This pair of ruby slippers is about 70% finished for another Wizard of Oz fan, so there's 30% of the work to do.

These are the sorts of ruby slippers made for all the true fans of Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz.

I think patience is the key to make them beautiful and perfect. You need to meditate while spending long hours each day focusing on every individual sequin.
