No because people close to me know me well but I received some small gifts.

sometimes in Laos there's a fine line between a girl serving beer and a prostitute, if you have the money both can be taken to bed

It's sad to say but this is so true. Waitresses serving beer and food can act as a prostitute.

The average monthly income for a Lao girl who serves beer in a restaurant is no more $150 USD, so some girls are prepared to do anything for extra money and that may mean going out with a customer.

Unlike prostitutes in Laos where you can point your finger at them and take them out of the room with you, you can't take beer girls out with you while they are still working but you are allowed to exchange phone numbers to meet elsewhere.

What Beer girls and waitresses do outside their working hours is their business, but they are not allowed to be prostituting in a business that prohibits this kind of activity.

I wouldn't call them classy but the working girls in Laos are a lot different than those you see in Thailand. A lot of the ones in Thailand seem like your typical "bad-girl" types that get tattoos and smoke cigarettes while in Laos a lot of them are just your run of the mill village girl who only does it out of necessity
