This is a pair of wearable shoes with red silk fabric overlay that we crafted in Judy Garland's size 5B. This is the exact size and shape she wore in her role as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.
The wooden shaped heels, the exact arch shank on the shoes with pointy toes, matches the pair she wore in Munchkinland which is known as the best pair she wore in the movie. Following the same procedure, we applied glossy red paint to the soles, heat stamped with golden emboss label on the right insole with the words "Innes Shoe Co., Los Angeles, Pasadena, Hollywood", and "#7 Judy Garland" is written on the top lining of both shoe. This is a high quality pair of shoes that will be sequined into a brand new pair of ruby slippers, all by hand sewing about 5,000 sequins. The right shoe is finished and the craftmanship is phenomenal, just beautiful sewing.
We always sequin the right shoe first to keep our normal routine when crafting hand-sewn ruby slippers. We now begin working with the left shoe. We are now sequining the left shoe. Every sequin is hand sewn with painstaking attention to detail as the photos show.

Are the "uppers" nailed or glued to the "lower" part of the shoe? So far looks beautiful. Good Job!

They are nailed so that they are stronger and won't come apart.
Thank you. Everything is made from scratch. These are an exact reproduction wearable hand-sewn ruby slippers just like those made for Judy Garland as Dorothy in 1938. |

Without giving away any secrets do you have a way to distinguish your ruby-red slippers from the originals? I mean could an expert tell them apart? To me they appear exactly alike.

I guess they don't appear exactly alike today because we are comparing a pair of ruby slippers that is very old to a brand new pair.
But if we compare my ruby slippers to how the original ruby slippers once looked, in new condition when they came out of the wardrobe department about 80 years ago, then they are the closest you can get. We craft ruby slippers the way the originals used to look. |

A masterpiece. This stunning pair of ruby slippers is finished. The shape of the shoes is perfect, the bows is perfect, the sequining is perfect, we couldn't be more pleased with the result.
