We are crafting an exquisite pair of wearable hand-sewn ruby slippers in Judy Garland's size 5B.

The shape matches the Witch's Shoes, the most popular pair of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. The heels are made from wood just like those on the original ruby slippers.

Usually we post some progress photos from the early stages of our project but we have been very busy with other commitments apart from making ruby slippers and taking photos.

Three-quarters of the work is finished with this pair which is shaping to be a real beauty as you can see from the photos below. They were scheduled to tour around Laos when completed, but a buyer has reserved them recently so we've cancelled the plan and will ship this pair to their new home soon.

The ruby slippers contain an authentic looking golden emboss label on the right shoe, and on both shoe reads "#7 Judy Garland". Everything is hand-sewn from the sequining on the shoe and the beads on the bows.

It's a lot of hard work, but to be a professional hand-sewn ruby slipper maker you need to do all the hard work. All of our previous pairs have been sold out, everybody loves our ruby slippers, and this is the final pair we will be making before we take a 6-8 week break from making ruby slippers.

i love the slipper that Judy wore in the movie its probably more iconic than Michael Jackson's shoes

Judy Garland's ruby slippers are more iconic because they are older, but Michael Jackson's shoes and other possessions are probably in more demand because he is very popular around the world.

Apart from people in America and a few other western countries, nobody really knows what the ruby slippers are.

This project is finished. Judy Garland as Dorothy wore an identical pair of ruby slippers in Munchkinland, the scene of the first time we see her wear the ruby slippers in The Wizard of Oz.

Any artist and beading worker would be very impressed with the craftmanship of this pair of hand-sewn ruby slippers, as would MGM costume designer Adrian.

You can really see how beautiful and neat the sequins overlap each other, which covers the entire shoes with 5,000 sequins or thereabouts. That's a lot of sewing with deep concentration, even just counting up to that figure 1,2,3,4,5 would make most people give up.

This stunning pair of ruby slippers is off to their new home and we hope their magic gives the new owner lots of happiness and success.

WOW the resemblance is uncanny, you can tell alot of hard work was put into them.

It's hard work, it's not the just sequining and bows that needs to be done but the shoes and wooden heels needs to be made from scratch and these things all take a lot of time.

Ruby slippers of this caliber are made for the true fans. Those who really love Judy Garland as much as we do.
