Did you take these photos yourself Admin, or did someone on your team take them?

Oh man that's a mighty big camera.... :laugh3.
The river appears to be dammed up to create a lake or reservoir. Hey is that the reservoir for Vientainites to get water source from? The image before the image of a young lady with the mighty big camera looks like a lithic sandstone weathered and smoothed out by this river. |

Vientianians get their water more closer to home from the Mekong River.
I'm not familiar with this area but the water looks very clean and I would assume it goes to the surrounding towns. |

Vientianites sound better than Vientianians in my opinion.
Owner of those wooden boats is very clever to submerge them in the water so they do not move around as much or float away by forces of the wind. |

The boats are chained to a log so they wouldn't be going anywhere.
I don't think they meant to sink their boats. The water from the river entered the boats by the wind, or rain filled the boats and down they go. |

Ok it makes more sense now why some of those boats are submerged and I didn't realize that thse boats are chained up. However the owner is too clumsy to not have those boats float because those water filled boats will rot much faster now.

Yes, I'm not sure what the story is behind that because you would think the owner would make an attempt to get them back up afloat again, rather than leaving them to rot in the water.
Maybe the boats have been abandoned for months or years, and there's no plans to use them again. Some pieces of junk to add to a beautiful river nature. |

It appears this river will eventually become a wider lake for additional water resources and fishing and tourism. There are two tributaries from the north and northeast to allow water from the mountains to replenish the lake. Crystal clear during the dry season and probably moderately murky during the wet season. People fish there?

You're talking about another river in your photo attachment.
"Nam Suang" and "Nam Song" are two different rivers, notice the spelling? Yes, people fish in every river in Laos. |

Hey now fair. Your post title is wrong. ;D Nam Suang is a lake and not a river.

Like I said in my earlier posting, my knowledge with this area is limited but it's still a body of water regardless if it is a lake or a river.
The most important thing is I know it is "Nam Suang" which is the accurate information provided. |
