We have a couple of important projects this month. Judy Garland's size 5B ruby slippers and a size 10 ruby slippers for a Broadway Producer.

This is a pair of hand-sewn bows made from silk fabric and leather that we plan to use on our size 5B ruby slippers. The bows contain the sparkle of the red Swarovski rhinestones with rounded 1930's style silver claw settings, bugle beads and custom-made high quality glass rectangular stones.

We are among the top bow makers for ruby slippers in the world.

There's a short delay with our project this month because we are organizing our work space, keeping the area neat and clean makes working more enjoyable. We will continue with this month's ruby slippers soon.

We will have a lot of work to do during the next few months including a pair of ruby slippers for a VIP Broadway Producer in the USA, and a pair of ruby slippers that we plan to bring to Champassak in southern Laos for the locals to see towards the end of the year, so please keep an eye out on these projects as well.

The ruby slippers means so much to us because we grew up with Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz, and in a way we represent her by crafting ruby slippers that are faithful to the original ruby slippers.




Attractive Judy Garland as Dorothy

It's now August so we have overdue work to continue. This is a pair of shoes in Judy Garland's size 5B that we will be using to craft this pair of ruby slippers.

As with all our shoes, you won't find this pair of shoes anywhere else because they are custom-made using our shoe lasts. The perfect shape heels has a vintage 1930's style look about them, and they are also not found anywhere else. Our heels are hand crafted from wood and it takes a lot of skill to reproduce the same shape as the original heels which are also wooden heels.

The shape of the shoes with pointy toes is identical to the best pair of ruby slippers Judy Garland as Dorothy wore and first owned by MGM employee Kent Warner, known as the "Witch's Shoes".

Inside both shoe reads "#7 Judy Garland" as usual, and we used heat embossing labels on "both" shoe for testing purposes that reads "Innes Shoe Co., Los Angeles, Pasadena, Hollywood."

The soles have been painted glossy red and we are ready to begin sequining the shoes. The ruby slippers will be created to look brand new in the same condition they were made for The Wizard of Oz.

Our priority is the Ruby slippers for Broadway Producer project, so the work on this size 5B pair will be put on a pause for a while when we begin that project.

Sequining on the right shoe is nothing short of outstanding, this is obviously a work of a professional.

You can see how very thin the leather and fabric bows look when viewed from the side and that's exactly how we want it. When the right shoe is finished, the bows will be bent so it wraps over the shoe.

It's been a while but we have finished the right shoe and we are at the half way mark of the project.

This is really beautiful, the sequins are flat and firm, and they overlap each other perfectly with no gaps. There's about 2,300 sequins on the shoe so a lot of time has been spent on sewing to get this far.

This pair of size 5B ruby slippers is finished. The new owner will be very impressed with the stitching because the sequin placements are absolutely flawless and the bows are as good as they come.

Final photo of this really beautiful pair of ruby slippers. You can really see how neat and firm the sequins appear because they are sewn directly onto the shoes so every sequin is locked in where they are meant to be, overlapping each other perfectly and there's no shifting out of place.

Also notice that every sequin covers the shoes right to the edge of the shoes and heels.

We still have a lot of work with other projects that are currently in progress because we have two reserved pairs of ruby slippers in size 10 and size 8 for two lovely customers that must be completed in a timely manner.
