We have homemade videos of Laos way back in 1992, and I'll take some still images when I have time.

You'll see the shops in Vientiane, the people in Vientiane, the streets in Vientiane, the temples in Vientiane, everything and even southern Laos too! These can't be seen anywhere else.

I was only a few years old at the time and not many Lao people owned tape-based analog video cameras in those days, also not many foreigners visited Laos because the Government had just opened their doors.

So stay tuned in the future to see a rare glimpse of every day life in Laos in the early '90s.

I sure will in the future when I have time. I have a lot of old 8mm video tapes that I need to go through.

A lot has changed in Laos since the 90's, as with everywhere else in the world.

actually that doesnt look that different to me, parts of Pak Se look just like that.

The first post is in Vientiane, not Pakse. Vientiane is very different from 25 years ago.

I'm very busy with work and also crafting ruby slippers this year and possibly early next year, so I won't have time with old Lao pictures until maybe towards the end of 2017.

yes Vientiane is different, but if you go outside the city just a few km you can see images like that.
