Even though Laos may not be modernize or industrialize .I think the beauty of the country speak for itself .It kinda remind ya of the innocent .Very beautiful pic admin.

It's the Nam Khan River.
There are many rivers in Laos but they all flow into the Mekong River, which is the main one. |

Not my cheesburger :D :D :D :D. I went to work offshore Newfoundland, Canada 3 years ago on a vessel and got seasicked throughout the trip. What made it worse was that we were at the same vicinity where the Titanic had sanked.

The story of the Titanic fascinates me.
Maybe a river boat is smoother on the river for you, and it's not a long journey as traveling by ship. |

With Lao openning up, what we have today will vanish in 10 years, esp, northern lao, only 7 years ago, we saw green green big tree mountains, what we have today? gray gray sporadic bush mountains and river turned fish pond. Cherish it before it is gone. :D |

Agree I should have not compare an apple to an orange because there are less wave effects from a river comparing to an open sea where waves can be at least 3 meters high and that is in a 'calm' condition. However, we asians are not biological inclined to be seafarers. Vikings and Scandinavian people are the true seafarers.

Good images! I can spend the whole day skipping those rocks across the river 8-).
Is this a typical mountain slope environment to have mainly low lying vegetations (or grass) growing on these relatively higher grade slopes above rivers and canyons in various sections of the country-north,centtral,south? |

This is a typical mountain scenery up north.
I haven't seen big mountains near rivers down south, but then again I haven't been everywhere yet. |

The weather can get very cold with frosts in the mountainous regions of Laos.

Sakyant please take some pictures when you are there and hopefully you can share them here 8-). The higher elevations up the mountains should be coldest region.
