Judy Garland was a superstar who grew into an icon beloved by the world. Best known as Dorothy in MGM's fantasy adventure movie "The Wizard of Oz", Judy Garland's brilliant performance skyrocketed her to a position as America's biggest star in 1939 when she was a baby-faced 17 year old teenager.

Judy Garland played leading roles as an actress during her heyday in the late 1930's and 40's, at a time when musical films still had elements of vaudeville, or the conventions of opera and theater. She could sing, she could dance, she could act, and she could do pretty much anything thrown at her. Judy Garland is one of the true great legends of show business.

How often have you visited Grand Rapids, Minnesota?

Never, but hopefully I will get the opportunity one day to visit her childhood home which has turned into a museum. I would love to step inside and get a feel of her family's living conditions in the 1920's.

Also Los Angeles where she spent most of her life as an actress, there's many memories of Judy Garland such as her hand prints and two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I would also love to visit her final resting place in New York and pay my respects.
