Title: Re: Life in rural villages of Laos Post by Admin Saovaluck on 26th Dec, 2012 at 8:32am Life in urban Laos is a bit more modern, but we still have a long way to go to match neighbouring Southeast Asian countries. You take these pictures or you just find pictures and randomly post them?

We have photographers who take them for us. They also work with us.

I prefer the rural than the urban. More natural and pure (this is from my point of view as nothing related to others personal preference)

That's acceptable, we all have different lifestyle choices.
At the moment I like the urban life, as most of the younger generation would. When I enter my twilight years as a 60 or 70 year old down the track, I'll definitely prefer the peaceful rural life. |

In Laos, little grand children will be taken care by parents or grandparents? Here, silver generation has been taken to city to babysit.

Most families in Laos are large so there's always someone at home to take care of little children.
Whether they are parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, and some families have uncles and aunts still living at home. |

Arrived into the world as another Earthling from the jungle of central Laos, I prefer the jungle lifestyle over the urban ways any day. Life in the urban setting is too chaotic and with all sorts of pollutions.

Urban life in Laos is close to the jungle lifestyle anyway.
If we look at cities like New York, Sydney and Bangkok, a "country town like" city in Laos is incomparable. |

Very nice structure and they got everything in there. Rooms are priced just like hotels in the western world. How far is this from downtown Vientiane? Is there a 'downtown'?

It's in downtown Vientiane, on the river and has an inappropriate roof. (Lao-style roof plonked incongruously on top of a western-style high rise).

Title: Re: Life in rural villages of Laos Post by Laosnow on 4th Jan, 2013 at 3:01am I tried to post an 'image location' of the hotel but got this message when I pasted in the link. - It appears that you are trying to write using ALL CAPS. Please be aware this is against forum rules. |

Personally I admire the Lao-style (terra-cotta looking) roof on new houses that they are building in the city. Seems that all new houses have this roof style only and is that a standard and/or law to have them this way?

Maybe the link to the image needs to be in lowercase. |
