Judy Garland was an American actress and singer. Beginning an early childhood career in vaudeville with her two older sisters, Miss Garland signed with MGM at the age of 13 and starred in 32 classic movies, where she came best known for her role as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at 16 years old, as well as for her roles in numerous movies throughout the 1930s to the early 1960s including Meet Me in St. Louis, A Star Is Born, The Harvey Girls and Babes in Arms among others.
Judy Garland also proved to be a fine partner in the movies with Gene Kelly, and particularly her best friend Mickey Rooney during their teen years. She also spent much of her career appearing in television and performing in concerts around the world and the United States. Judy Garland's signature song, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in The Wizard of Oz showed the very best of her singing voice, and she is without doubt the most beautiful and greatest musical and dancing talent in movie history.
