Could someone help me understand what happens here, I met a local girl in Lao and am trying to take her to my country in Europe on a tourist visa.  Apart from her getting a visa into my country does she need clearance to leave Lao also.  Her English is reasonably good and we communicate fine but when it comes to more technical things like this the communication can break down. She is getting help from a member of Police who is helping her, he has requested documents from me which i have provided, i guess its to make sure i'm a ligit sponsor, he seems to be taking longer than he first indicated.  So i'm kind of confused if he's just organising clearance for her to leave or also applying for her visa from the nearest emmbassy to my country.  Does a Lao national who for example turns up at the Airport in Bangkok need some kind of clearance on their passport to check in to an international flight? Any info on the matter would be much appreciated, thank you.   

Padkapow, getting someone out from Laos is more complicate then you think.  It involves ton of paper work.  I don't know about your country, but USA you have to go through some legal procedures.  Good luck

Thank you Laoguy for your response, seems to be the case alright, not cheap either from what I can see, if anyone can provide a link to where theres details on such technicalities it would be great.
