Judy Garland is famous for wearing the ruby slippers, but she also wore different types of footwear during the making of The Wizard of Oz.

She wore black shoes in the Kansas farm scenes, and when she arrives in Oz before Glinda gives her the ruby slippers.

When her feet was out of camera range, she wore boots, shoes and sandals in order to minimize wear and tear on the ruby slippers and also to make her appear smaller than her friends.

Perhaps you should watch the movie to figure that out. It's the best movie in the world, I don't know why anyone would want to miss it.

To save you time, Judy Garland as Dorothy wore two different kinds of shoes in the actual filming of the movie. She wore black leather school shoes, and the ruby slippers during the majority of the movie.
