The Wizard of Oz superstar, Judy Garland should not be singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in a barnyard as far as the executives at MGM was concerned, but they still made her sing in it anyway.
After a review, the scene was a 50-50 chance of being cut from the movie because it slowed down the movie and it was considered insulting to Judy Garland for making her sing in this sort of environment.
They decided to cut out the scene and therefore the song with it, but ultimately common sense prevailed and it was put back into the movie.
