I hope you can afford the dowry for four.
In Laos, companies like to use girls to represent their goods and services, and representing cigarettes are no exception. |

Beautiful. I also like BeerLao girl.
:) |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 9th May, 2011 at 3:59am
I remember working as a Beerlao girl.
I can assure you it's harder work than those ladies, because you're always exposed to alcoholics and drunk people. |

You used to be BeerLao models Admins?

Yes, that's probably why I tend to be a bit soft with our friend, Larb Dip, because I've dealt with worser situations than that.
I wasn't actually a model, but my duty was to serve alcohol to customers. |

Beautiful girls all of them. Thanks Admin

In the first photo it says:

So, the fire is still burning it seems. We ARE still flirting. ;) Admin Saovaluck wrote on 9th May, 2011 at 4:28am:
What aren't you still employed in that profession anymore? |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 9:23am
It says "Goompah", which is the month of "February" in English.
Not anymore, I have a more professional job in the IT field. |

How long were you employed to 'serve alchohol'? |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 7:34pm
Not for more than two months.

Did you make good tip and money? Off topic but one of my Lao friends work at casino. He get pretty good tips about $100-$200 a night. :) |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 8:35pm
That's a lot of money for tips. He must be earning more money from tips than his actual salary. And if you add up his salary with his tips, he is a very rich man indeed.
I didn't get any tips while working as a Beerlao girl, that's not how we operate. When I was a teenager, I needed some money so I decided to give the job a go, but the small pay wasn't worth it. |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao LXE on 13th May, 2011 at 9:05pm
You can make good money from tip. But my friends only work part time 3 day a week. If he get $600 a week in tips that's about $2,400 a month plus hourly wage. In America that's not much, but enough to pay bills.
;) |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 9:38pm
I'm sure that's enough for other things besides bills.
I heard that in America, it is essential to give tips when eating at a restaurant, and that you wouldn't want to go back there again if you didn't give any tips. Is this true? |

Did they pay you just to pour liquor? Do you have to socialise with the winos too? Ever met someone you liked while under that employment? |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao LXE on 13th May, 2011 at 10:29pm
Tip in America is 20%. You give $20 if your bills is $100. Some people give less some give more.
If you know how to manage your money you'll do ok in the U.S. The problem is people make more, but spend more. If you make $2,500 a month and rent apartment for $800 a month and drive used car then no problem. ;) |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 10:29pm
Yes, that's what they paid me to do.
No, I am not required to socialise with anyone. If customers were willing to talk to me, I was happy to talk with them though. No, but I had plenty of people who liked me. |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 13th May, 2011 at 10:48pm
It's the same with people in Laos. The money goes out faster than it comes in.

Did you hook up with any? >:( |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 14th May, 2011 at 2:58am
No I wasn't interested in anyone. I'm there to work, not to find someone to hook up with.

Perfect stated. Money management is the key to less stress living situation in the US. Do not spend more than you make. What about people in Vientaine, what rough estimated percentage of the population use the bank to manage thier money?

Is that type of job good paying? Better than $200? The free beer alone should be worth it, right? |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 14th May, 2011 at 4:59am
I only earned about $70 US in a month as a Beerlao girl.
They don't give free beers. I wasn't allowed to drink beer or any form of alcohol while working. It's part of their rules, not that I mind, because I don't like to drink anyway. |

Did your parents object to that type of employment? :-? |
Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 14th May, 2011 at 6:06am
They didn't object to it, but the late night work was a bit of a concern. It didn't really matter much because I didn't work with the company for very long.

Title: Re: Lao Tobacco girls Post by Lao LXE on 14th May, 2011 at 5:09pm
Good policy. You can't be drunk while working. In America legal age to drink alcohol is 21 year old.
