I was quite pleased stumble across this blog post. Its well predicted that with the exponential growth of the world population, insects will be a primary source of food. I also frequently read articles about "test-tube meat" which is muscle tissue of animals grown in labs through cell culture.

As far as eating insects, we've been doing it forever, so I'm not opposed to it! I think there are plenty of disgusting animals Americans consider delicacies such as shrimp, oysters, and crawfish. I love all of them, but agree that they are merely insects of the sea.

I tried grasshoppers only once a long, long time ago. I don't remember anything about it except it was really crispy. I didn't get to sample any other insects on my last visit to Laos, but have put it on my to do list for next time.

Perhaps somebody can create a farm of queen ants to produce ant larvae. I hear they are tasty too...

I'm not sure. Look like Luang Prabang, but they sell these kinds of food all over Laos. This's why I want to retire early in Laos with about $1,000 a month. You can live comfortable and eat good.

You are from Minnesota right? Do they sell ant eggs in Asiian stores up there because of the larger Lao population? I could find any here in Texas.

I think they got them. We got all kind of Asian store here in MN, Lao, Thai, Hmong, Cambodian, Viet, Korean, Chinese.

Vietamese and Chinese dominate the asian population down here. I do not think they eat ant eggs as much as us.
