It does not say the region in Laos. Probably northern?

If I remember correctly, the Saola was discovered in a heavily-forested area of northern Laos close to the Vietnamese border.

It was the first new species of large mammal to be discovered anywhere in the world in many decades.

Pretty cool. Never seen anything like it. I hope the locals don't hunt them. They're rare.
