This is another example of Old Man's 'diseased imagination' - a floating swimming pool!

Whoever heard of such a thing?.............I haven't, but it seemed like a really good idea.

And the local kids like it.

But Old Man still insists they wear life vests for their safety.

All in a line............nice!

It's just over the river from Ban Na Taer. That's where the children are from. You can see a map and other photos and details at:

Are there any cages in place eo stop these children from going under the platform?

Yes, I was careful to put in cages to stop children from going under the platform.

Not that it would be a problem for Lao children who live along this river anyway - they are are great swimmers.

Very nice idea. Safer for the kiddos from being swept by currents with enclosed in this system. Nice fishing platform too.

YES! You got that fact bang on!

Thay are all swimming in the rivers all over Laos at as soon as they can walk. This is also how most take their daily showers/baths.
