Will this militia ever get to use his AK47? Or is this all for show? Has ANYBODY ever been reduced to a pin cushion in streets of Vientiane?

Nothing is for the show, he is the real deal, and he knows how to use his gun if required.

So, has anyone actually been dealt to - millitary style - in vientiane, in the open public?

I heard the 'commies' have the firing squad on speed-dial. True or what?

He isn't there for the purpose of war, because we know that's in the past. His job is a security role, such as protecting property or protecting important people in the vicinity.

I haven't seen anyone get dealt with in public, maybe because I don't go out much.

Where are public executions carried out?
Back in the day, they used to make a public announcement just before carry out the slaying. Anything of the sort these days?

I don't think they do it in public, but maybe in secrets. In 1999 about 50 Lao university student who protest for democracy where arrest quickly and had not heard from. No trail no lawyer just another political prisoner.
:'(

Making me sad and feel bad for them when I think about it. That's somebody son, daughter, brother, sister, friends. They're peaceful protester, best and brightest and Laos future. They're outspoken just like you and me. Maybe UN, World Bank should pressure Commies to release political prisoner. Cuba release about 300 of their political prisoner why not Laos? If they don't want them then exile them to a third country. Many country will give them asylum.
:'( :-[
