What tourist destination or place would you recommend?

I like Vientiane, but that's just me.

I don't really recommend just one specific destination because tourists in Laos should try to see places from up in the north, and down to the south, to make their holiday worthwhile.

When I visit I'll go to Vientian, luang prabang and Savannakhet.

I was from Vientiane. Hometown has to show some love.

What about the other city, Pakse?

The world heritage site, Wat Phu temple complex further down south is also worth visiting.

Pakse too and hopefully I can also retire in live in Laos in future. Of course I'll be quiet about Laos politics. I also has relative living in Laos.

You don't have to be quiet about Lao politics, you just can't accuse them.

No offense. In the US we speak our mind and no problem. Government has better thing to do. They can careless of what you say, but you can't threaten people.  I'm just one man opinion. I'm no politicians or expert. I was born after 1975.
