was wondering if there is a Thai embassy in Savannakhet?..I may need to do a visa run and want to try something other than Vientienne

A country only has one Thai Embassy located in their capital city, in this case Vientiane. But there's a consulate in Savannakhet that will take care of issuing you a visa.

Is it safe to assume that they handle all types of visas...i.e. work visas for Thailand?

I don't want to assume anything since I've never been to Savannakhet, let alone the Thai consulate.
