Is this just a stray cow, or what?

It's a cow, 100%.

I'm in Laos so I know.

I believe it is a male, so it would either have to be a bull, or if it is "fixed" it would be a steer. That is definitely not a cow. hahaha

I'm not an expert, but my family raised a couple of steers and heifers for meat when I was young, and we went to a local dairy farm for milk.

Bovine yes, cow no.

I see, anyway, we call them "ngoh" in Lao language meaning "cow", regardless if they are male or female.

Yea, we make everything difficult in the English language. My wife told me on a shopping trip to the store, the name for an orange is the same for grapefruit, tangerine, and about 4 more similar citrus fruits. Confusing for me, easier for her. Haha.

I defiantly was not implying that you were knowledgeable about animals in your country. I apologize if my comment came across in that manner.

Yes, English language is more specific in naming things.

Same with boats, you have all sorts of boats (raft, ship, canoe, yacht, speedboat, vessel, and others), but we just call them boats in Lao language.
