Title: Trucks in Laos Post by Lao Pride Administrator on 8th Jun, 2009 at 1:25am
Hundreds of trucks transport goods from Thailand into Laos daily and they cause dust and mud on our roads.
Motorbike drivers, pedestrians, homes and businesses near the roadside suffer the consequences of high dust level in Laos. |

There's lots of dust and exhaust fumes from a vehicle so sometimes you see people wearing masks to cover their nose and face from the pollution.

Someone needs to put grass on land area that is not paved. Grass should stabilize the sands in place and limit these sands to go onto the paved road and walkway.

The dust is even worse in the rural areas, man. You could give yourself a decent tan just by riding up and down on your mopeds. ;D

Km. 6 golf course have one for their own use. I got mine from there. It's the special grass they grow to put on the greens. Mine is now growing between the cracks in the stones of my rock garden. |

Its odd threads like these that make me a little suspicious that the Administrator really is who she says she is.
Had I lived in Laos, I don't think it would cross my mind to take a picture of such a commonly occurring scene and post it online. You see trucks everyday, all over the world....... Same goes with so many other threads dealing with super ordinary things that I wouldn't understand the motivation of sharing. Please don't get me wrong, I enjoy looking at the pictures regardless, but I just still don't understand why a technology-savvy girl in Laos would run this forum dealing with relatively boring, everyday life in Laos. Nevertheless, thanks for the pics... |

Admins is doing a great jobs promoting Laos and Lao culture. Most of us Lao expats living most of our live or born oversea do not understand what life in Laos is like. Keep up the good work Admins.

BlastSweep, I don't take pictures, we have our own photographers who do that for us. I sit on my luxury chair in front of the computer every day, I don't go out and about.

Personally I do not see what the problem is. I agree with Lao Democratic that there are a few of us, like myself and Lao Democratic, that wants a feel of what is like in our motherland but not being there to witness all them. Keep uploading them pics Admin. :).

I'm with Blastsweep here: you guys don't have anything better to photograph in Laos? I don't think anyone REALLY has any interest in seing how mud is formed. Why can't you guys post more splendid pictures on here? You guys are the 'Hi-So' right?
:'(I'm not trying to get you back because you broke with me. :'( This is a legitimate question. |

Larb Dip, This forum isn't only about mud and trucks. If you are not interested in the topic in question, then why are you here?
We have other topics within the forum which you may find more interesting. There's no need to criticise a topic that you don't like, while others may like, because they want a feel of Laos. |
