Anybody have any idea on what Khamphay means? Its my dads name and he says its some type of bamboo. And I wanted to make sure. And can someone please translate the name into Lao script/alphabet/language please?

Kham means gold, so if he says some type of bamboo.......then Khamphay means golden bamboo. I hope I am right. If I am not right....can anybody helps this gentleman out?
